Tom Fullerton

Tom Fullerton is a Professor of Economics in the College of Business Administration at the University of Texas at El Paso where he holds the Chair for the Study of Trade in the Americas and directs the Border Region Modeling Project. Dr. Fullerton holds degrees from UTEP, Iowa State University, Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania, and University of Florida.
Prior positions include Senior Economist at the University of Florida Bureau of Economic & Business Research, International Economist with Wharton Econometrics in Philadelphia, Economist in the Executive Office of the Governor of Idaho, and Associate Economist in the corporate planning department of El Paso Electric Company. Fullerton has worked as a Visiting Scholar at Helsinki School of Economics in Finland, Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas, Monterrey Institute of Technology in Mexico, Colegio de la Frontera Norte in Tijuana, and Universidad Autónoma de Ciudad Juárez.
His analysis has been cited in articles appearing in Wall Street Journal, New York Times, Washington Post, Barron’s, USA Today, Investor’s Business Daily, Bloomberg Business, and U.S. News & World Report. He has also appeared on national newscasts aired by ABC, CNN, FOX, The News Hour on PBS, National Public Radio, Bloomberg Radio, Marketplace Radio, and Sirius XM Business Radio.
