The Vote Solar Initiative

Vote Solar is a non-profit grassroots solar advocacy organization that campaigns to remove regulatory barriers and implement key policies needed to bring solar to scale.

In fall 2011, Vote Solar commissioned the Seidman Research Institute to produce an independent evaluation of the state’s solar industry.

Focusing primarily upon employment and other macro-economic impacts, the objectives of this proposal were to:

• Objectively evaluate the current solar industry in Arizona in terms of direct and indirect employment benefits, gross state product, disposable income and tax revenues; and
• Investigate and assess the full implications of different policy scenarios from a generation capacity, employment, environmental and economic perspective.
