SRP/Navajo Nation
Navajo Generating Station (NGS) is a coal-fired power plant supplied by Kayenta Mine, serving electric customers in Arizona, Nevada and California, and energy to pump water through the Central Arizona Project.
In fall 2011, SRP and the Navajo Nation commissioned an economic impact study of NGS and the mine, individually and in aggregate, for Coconino County, Navajo County and the State of Arizona, 2011-2044.
This was followed by a second commission in 2012-13, estimating the impact of NGS and the mine, individually and in aggregate, exclusively for the Navajo Nation for the 2020-2044 time horizon.
To complete the latter Nation-specific analysis, Seidman also designed and implemented a Navajo Household Expenditure Survey.
