Phx Philanthropy Group

The Phoenix Philanthropy Group partners with organizations to optimize their impact on global society. The mission of the Phoenix Philanthropy Group is to serve organizational needs with strategic, innovative, accountable, and outcome-driven fundraising, constituent relations, and development programs.

Since their founding in 2004, the firm has grown to become the premiere nonprofit consulting firm in the southwestern United States, having served more than 130 clients around the world, while retaining a special focus on, and commitment to, Arizona and its local communities.

In 2014, the Phoenix Philanthropy Group asked Seidman to lead the first-ever economic footprint and vitality study of the nonprofit community in the State of Arizona.

Working in partnership with the Arizona Community Foundation, the Alliance of Arizona Nonprofits, and ASU Lodestar Center for Philanthropy and Nonprofit Innovation, Seidman estimated the direct, indirect, and induced impact of 3,000 nonprofits currently employing 1 or more full- or part-time staff in Arizona. Additional quantitative and qualitative insights were then drawn from a statewide survey issued to all 21,000 nonprofits.

The key findings were presented in Phoenix, Tucson, and Flagstaff in March 2016, and are available below. A social media and marketing kit to promote the findings is also available at aznonprofitimpact.org

The study was sponsored by the Arizona Community Foundation, The Phoenix Philanthropy Group, the Industrial Development Authority of the County of Maricopa, and Arizona Public Service (APS).

In 2018, Seidman launched a follow-up study, in partnership with the Alliance of Arizona Nonprofits, which updated the economic impact estimates, and started a dialog about social return on investment.
