AZ Diamondbacks
In 2016, Seidman was commissioned to undertake two studies for the Arizona Diamondbacks.
The first study estimated the economic and fiscal impact of the Arizona Diamondbacks on taxpayers and residents in Maricopa County and the State of Arizona, 1996 through 2015. The sources of impact evaluated included the construction of Chase Field, the annual participation of the Diamondbacks in the Arizona Cactus League, and the Diamondbacks’ regular and postseason Major League Baseball operations.
The second study explored options for the development of a sustainable infrastructure-funding model for a Major League Baseball stadium in Maricopa County.
In 2018, Seidman was commissioned to implement two additional studies for the Diamondbacks. One was an update of the original economic and fiscal impact study, extending the analysis to include 2017 season. The other estimated future economic and fiscal impacts for taxpayers and residents based upon two assumptions – the construction of a new baseball facility (2020-2022), and the Diamondbacks’ projected regular and postseason operations over 30 years (2023-2052).
