Energize Phoenix

Energize Phoenix was a three year program of energy conservation measures targeted at single-family residential, multi-family residential and commercial buildings located in the Central Phoenix Light Rail corridor.

Federally funded by a $25 million grant from the U.S. Department of Energy Better Buildings Program and the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA), the program was run by the City of Phoenix in partnership with Arizona State University and Arizona Public Service (APS).

The Seidman Research Institute was commissioned to analyze the energy savings and effectiveness of the project, including an econometric analysis of the effects of energy retrofits, and an economic impact study of the federal investment in Maricopa County.
